Figo Atrium 5.5 4G LTE
Android Phone

Hey Everyone, welcome to my review page for the Figo Atrium 5.5 4G LTE Android phone. I think this phone is a great fit for a lot of people out there who are looking for a smart phone that can deliver content the way an iPhone can, as well as just about anything else an iPhone can do, and best of all at a fraction of the price of a functionally equivalent high premium Apple product or other Android phone. In other words, this phone is very much in the spirit of ChumpLoveReviews.com where we focus on reviewing high quality products that are also reasonably priced – that is, hidden gems out there on the market that just not enough people are aware of and trust me there are a lot of products like this on-line! That said, at $119 or less on Amazon.com this phone is also really REALLY well priced even for an Android phone, that is, not just at price point comparisons with iPhones. You will see that there are lots of lesser quality Android phones out there that will cost about the same price or MORE and yet have far less to offer as far as speed, design and also screen size which is a real kisser with this phone as the “5.5” refers to the fact that the phone has a 5.5” inch screen size which also delivers content with 1080p high definition clarity so that way all your Internet news clips, music videos or what have you are a pleasure to watch on this perfectly (that is, it isn’t too big for your pocket or purse or pocket purse or whatever) sized, bright and sleek screen. So, yes it runs Android OS rather than Apple’s smart phone IOS but as everyone knows Android is just as good as Apple if not better especially considering that the number of android apps coming available on the market is out pacing the number of new Apple apps that are coming onto the market – basically, Android app development is out pacing or accelerating the Android apps development scene which is a major plus to look forward to and consider when you go with a Android based phone versus a Apple phone being you will have more options and therefore more competition which drives prices down but also will help to improve or increase quality.

Anywayz….So getting back to the phone itself, it is big, beautiful, bright and it plain and simply just has a very elegant, sleek design that is actually very similar to a iPhone as it is just as thin and minimalist in design as a iPhone 6 or 6s. It is solidly made else I would NOT be writing a review about the phone as I would have sent it back right away or given it away or just turned it into a spare MP3 player if it were just a rinky dinky piece of plastic. I don’t know what exactly it is made of but it has a nice weight to it (where the center of gravity is quite even through out giving it a nice smooth and full weight) with a very comfortable and durable feel to it. As well, I will say in the 6 months plus time I’ve had the phone I haven’t noticed any wear and tear or mechanical deterioration – that is, no covers coming lose or plastic that is beginning to warp upwards away from its original form the way you would all too commonly see with lesser designed and built phones.

So, let’s talk about the company behind the phone itself, that it, FIGO. So, as you may notice this is not a major brand. No worries, that just means they aren’t well known so in other words this is a classic example of a quality product of comparably equal quality to more popular brand name phones on the market (a hum, cough, iPhone is a good example or even a high end over priced Samsung) So as far as I can tell, FIGO might be USA based company because as per their website the only address or indication of any kind of locale is one given for Los Angeles, CA. FIGO does not appear to be a born-yesterday-company nor is the Figo Atrium 5.5 their first or only product, they actually have a line of other phone models and even older versions of the Atrium. None of their other products have as yet attracted my interest (that is, as much as I can glean of their other available products which I’ve briefly browsed on their website) so at this point I can’t recommend any of them right now but perhaps there will be some newer models of the Atrium to come yet which I can review in the near future. This is not far fetched as the Figo Atrium does after all only come with 1 GB of RAM which in my opinion has been more than sufficient for web surfing on the phone as well as for use with whatever various apps you might choose to install and use on your own phones – strictly speaking though, the obvious next step would be a 2 GB RAM option which I think would greatly improve their competitiveness with the higher end iPhone 6 and up or the higher end Samsung Galaxys out there that start with 2 GB RAM. I know that for many, many people the 1 GB of RAM is more than enough to offer a fully functional smart phone but there are always going to be people who can’t settle for anything less than the best which at this current time happens to be the 2 GM RAM phones out there which are about $600+ more than the Figo Atrium 5.5. In other words, it is your choice in the end but the information and review I am providing here will help you think it over and make a decision if you are at the cross roads and also have an imagination and can think of other better things you might be able to do with an extra $600+ dollars. 🙂 Catch my drift?

So let me give you a quick summary in terms of pros and cons:

Pros:

1. Great price compared to other premium Android phones and especially all iPhones. I can’t think of any other phone on the market right now at or around $119 that is as nice as the Figo Atrium 5.5

2. Nice beautiful 5.5 inch screen size that is capable of high definition 1080p resolutions

3. Solidly made, that is, built to last. Sleek, slender and overall elegant design.

4. Very fast and responsive, which you would expect being it comes equipped with a 1.3 Ghz quad-core processor as well as 1 GB of RAM

5. It’s a Android phone. I know this is fairly common place but this simple matter might make a difference to some people, that is, it should clear that this phone runs Android and is not a Apple or Windows smart phone.

Cons:

1. I haven’t been able to find at third-party phones cases for this phone. The phone comes with a soft cover jacket (white if you purchased the white variation of the phone, or black if you purchased the black variation of the phone) I really prefer some kind of a hardshell phone cover that can protects the front and back of the phone if you have it tucked away in your pocket or a bad or purse. So, I basically gave up looking for a cover/case like this for the Figo Atrium 5.5 but perhaps at this time of writing or at least sometime soon someone out there will start making hardshell cases/covers for the phone. Really, I didn’t see but I think one if that actual case/cover when searching on-line that actually said the case was made for or was at least compatible with the frame of Figo Atrium 5.5. If anyone out there knows of one or finds one please mention it in the comments section if you can. 🙂

2. Ok, I am fine with the phone as for the price it is really hard to complain. But, okay, I’ll say it, sure 2 GBs of RAM might be nice instead of the 1 GB though. Sometimes less is more which I feel is the case with the 1 GB of RAM but then again I am sure the phone would only be that much faster and responsive with 2 Gbs of RAM.

Ok, so that’s all for now folks I hope you’ve enjoyed this review of the Figo Atrium 5.5 Android phone. In the video review I also compare it to my iPhone 6s phone but I didn’t talk about it very much here since everyone knows a ton about iPhones already anyway as they as they are pretty much everywhere and have been for sometime. Enjoy you all, and please remember to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can stay up-to-date on our newest reviews. As well, and as always, if you have any questions just ask me in the YouTube video comments sections and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks! Peace out. ;>
